An International Buyer Seller Meet title CHEMICAL MEET-2008 has been organized by the Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic Export Promotion Council (CHEMEXCIL) at Mumbai from 28th 30 March,2008. MSME – Development Institute was associated with CHEMEXCIL for the participation of the cluster members manufacturing cosmetic products at Vasai& Western Suburbs of Mumbai. With the active support of All India Cosmetic manufacturers’ Association, Mumbai , the participation of 58 cosmetic units were mobilized. Besides, about 100 Indian participants from other sector like, Dyes & Dye intermediates, Basicinorganic and organic chemicals, Caster oil, Agarbatti, Cosmetic and Toiletries, also attended this event.

About 60 International buyers, importers, Distributors from various countries Like Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa, Ghana, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Lao PDR, Newsland, Brunel, Brazil, Lebanan and  Singapore were invited for this meet. The programme was inaugurated on 28th March at 6.30 Pm at Hotel Marine Plaza, Marine Road . The Dignitaries present on the occasion were, HE Consulate General of Russia, Chief General Manager, ECGC, Director , Deptt. Of Commerce & Industry New Delhi, Director, MSME- Development Institute, Chairman CHEMEXCIL, President, All India cosmetic Manufacturers’ Association and the Executive Director, CHEMEXCIL.

One to one buyer seller meet was organized on 29th March 2008 at Hotel Hilton Towers form 09:30 hrs to 18:00 hrs. Each of the foreign buyers was allotted with a sitting space with his/her name, Country name and area of interest. Indian Manufacturers (Sellers) were meeting the concerned buyers in turns. During discussions, the manufacturers were presenting their capabilities through power point presentation, displaying their prioducts and distributing their catalogues and brochures.

On 30th March 2008, the manufactures met with selected buyers in their respective rooms at Hotel Hilton Towers, Mumbai, for further discussion and deals. This event, as reported by the participated Cosmetic Manufactures in the Cluster, and the office bearers of the AICMA, was very informative, useful and encouraging for getting wide exposure with international  business scenario and improving the marketability of their products abroad. Cluster cosmetic units have experienced the Business Enquiries of about Rs 10 Crores during this buyer seller meet.
